Ingredients:

    • 1 pound of Pork Sausage
    • 4 tablespoons of Butter
    • 4 tablespoons of Flour
    • 2 teaspoons of Salt
    • 2 teaspoons of Black Pepper
    • 3 cups of whole milk

    Instructions:

    1. Cook sausage over medium heat in a large skillet. Be sure to break the sausage up to your desired size.
    2. Once the sausage has been browned, add the butter to the pan. Allow it to melt fully, stirring it into the sausage.
    3. Sprinkle flour over the sausage, stirring to incorporate it fully. Add the salt and pepper to taste. Stir until the mixture is relatively uniform. 
    4. Slowly add 1 cup of the milk to the sausage, stirring until smooth. Slowly stir in the remaining milk, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture up to a boil, reduce it to a simmer and allow the gravy to simmer for at least one full minute—then turn off the heat.
